Kody Eaves, who possesses some of the best power/speed tools in the system, put up the 17th best performance on the Halos' farm in 2014.

17.  Kody Eaves, 20, A ball. 2.7 WAR .268/.308/.415 with 10 HR and 25 SB

Against right handers, Eaves hit .282/.323/.457 with nine home runs, which is an impressive line for a twenty-year old in the Midwest League. It’s also not too different than Yarbrough’s line against righties, peripherals and all. The batted ball profile is similar too, though Eaves pops up and rolls weak groundballs to his pull side just a bit more.

Still... they share the 23% line drive rate, the penchant for spraying those to all fields, and Eaves has the better power tool. And speed tool. And glove. He’s younger too, with more development remaining.

What Eaves doesn’t do well is make contact against lefties, which bumps his overall k-percentage to alarming levels and keeps him off of the top ten lists. He’s a good fastball hitter, but has work to do against breaking and soft stuff. A big 2015 campaign would put him on the national map, and he has the tools to reside near the top of the Halos’ top ten list next year.
